This is a long ride for the day ( almost 500 miles ) so it would be best to get an early start ( I know it's hard to leave Santa Fe without one more walk thru the plaza! ). We've shown the more direct route via I-40; however, there are some more scenic routes via Route 66 and through the Four Corners area, just email us at customerservice@sportryderrentals.com for more info.
On your way to the canyon, Gallup ( on I-40 just before you make it out of New Mexico ) is a nice place for lunch and Winslow makes another stop ( stand on that "corner" and get your picture taken! ) for coffee and a break. Flagstaff is also another beautiful city to visit.
