The ride from Monterey to Yosemite will take you through the Santa Lucia Mountians, the Central Valley, and into the Sierra Nevada. The foothill and the mountains of Santa Lucia range are nestled right up against the Pacific Ocean. Roads in the Santa Lucia can be quite aggressive and there are many side routes to take up into the foothills. We have you taking the most direct route.
As you pass through the Central Valley, Los Banos or Merced make excellent stops for lunch. Merced, California is nestled right as you start into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Riding from here on out is very enjoyable!
After you enter Yosemite, of course there is much to see and do. A very aggressive and beautiful ride is to and beyond the North entrance of the Park. Please be careful, in some areas the only thing that separates the road from a steep dropoff is a small, low rock wall.
